Two arrested for murder of 23-year-old

The Bangur Nagar police has arrested two persons including a male friend of a 23-year-old woman whose decomposed body was found in a nullah in Malad (west) last Sunday. The police believes that the duo had drowned the victim.
The deceased 23-year-old Jayshree Gadam lives at Kailash Nagar in Mumbra. Last Sunday evening, Jayshree’s decomposed body was pulled out of a nullah behind Infinity Mall.
The Malvani police had registered a case of accidental death as the place of the incident falls under their jurisdiction. On the following day, the body was identified and the case was transferred to the Bangur Nagar police station as Jayshree’s mother had registered a missing case with them.
Jayshree worked in a gallery in Malad (west) with the arrested accused Jayesh Dhanavde (22). During his interrogation, it came to the fore that the accused Dhanavde along with his aide Sachin Ghadi had taken the victim Jayshree to Aksa beach in Malad (west) on April 19.
The duo for reasons unknown drowned her in the beach. The police arrested the duo as they tried to hide the fact that they had taken her to the Aksa beach. Also, the duo frequently changed their statements to mislead the police. The motive of the murder is being probed.
