Unidentified man molests 6-year-old in tardeo
An unidentified man allegedly groped a six-year-old girl while she was walking alone on a dimly lit street on Friday night in the Tardeo area of Mumbai Central in south Mumbai.
According to the Tardeo police, the girl is a resident of a slum in the Tulsiwadi area in Tardeo. She was playing near her residence and was on her way back home when she was targeted by the accused.
Police inspector, crime, Sangram Pache of Tardeo police station said, “The incident took place at around 9.20 pm. The streets near her residence are dimly lit. The girl stated that some man stopped her and groped her. He fondled her private parts and ran away. She is just a kid and it is becoming difficult for her to narrate the exact sequence of events and so we are dealing with her very patiently.”
After the incident took place, the victim rushed back home and informed her parents. Her father works in a grocery shop and mother is a domestic help.
They rushed to the police station after which a medical test was conducted on her. The report ruled out any kind of sexual assault or rape.
“As the accused touched her private parts, we have registered a case of molestation under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code,” added Mr. Pache.
