UPA government is Nirmal Baba's darbar
Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Friday compared the UPA government to the darbar of Nirmal Baba, which promises well-being without actually providing any reasonable solution. The minister was speaking at the public rally organised by the BJP.
Mr Modi said that while “Baba faces a trial in the court of law, he wanted the UPA to face trial in public”.
The leader, who was the main attraction among all the BJP bigwigs on the dias, started his speech in Marathi saying “Mumbaikarana Maza Namaskar”.
He then went on to question the Centre’s hidden agenda behind the devaluation of the rupee when compared with the dollar. “How long will the people tolerate this? The longer the government stays in power, the more it will ruin the nation,” Mr Modi said.
The Gujarat CM also expressed concern about the drought situation in Maharashtra and alleged “that it was due to the lack of policies by the Centre that farmers had to face such a situation”.
Praising BJP veteran Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said that had the NDA been at the Centre with Mr Vajpayee at the helm of the affairs, the party’s policies would had saved the day for farmers.
The Gujarat CM also went on to justify why the Centre should not have the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC). “The Centre is unable to check infiltration of arms and terrorist…In such a situation, the Union should not stop the states from taking its own security measures. Policies such as NCTC, will render the states powerless,” he said.
