Varsity set to conduct trial run of e-paper system
The University of Mumbai is all set to conduct the test run of the e-question paper system, which will enable the University to send the question paper through email to all the exam centres.
The test run to be held on Tuesday at the examination section of the University, will be carried out in the presence of officials from the cyber cell of the Mumbai police, who will be monitoring the entire process.
A highly-placed official said that despite objections from various sections of the principals, senate and management council, the initiative was all set to be rolled out from March 28, the scheduled date for the start of the TYBCom exams.
“The University has taken all steps to ensure that there is no breach in security of the account from where the question papers will be sent. While the exam centres that will receive the question papers have also been asked to have proper security firewalls, the University has enrolled the services of the cyber cell of the Mumbai police for additional security so that the account is not compromised in any way by anti-social elements,” said the official.
Pro-vice-chancellor Dr Naresh Chandra and in-charge controller of examination Deepak Wasave will also be present along with an operator, when the mock question papers are mailed.
“Colleges have been informed to be present online at 11 am when the first test papers will be mailed. All the centres have been asked to send in their feedback on a designated account within five minutes of receiving the question papers,” the official further added.
