WR stations inspected by panel
Ministry of railways’ Passenger Amenities Committee, headed by Chalavadi T. Narayanaswamy, visited Western Railway (WR) on Tuesday and carried out extensive inspection of Churchgate, Borivali, Vile Parle, Dadar and Mumbai Central stations. The committee inspected circulating areas, booking windows, stalls, toilet blocks, FOBs, platforms, passenger reservation offices etc. and reviewed the passenger amenities at these stations.
“I find the working of the suburban operation very amazing. I also find the level of cleanliness very good,” said Mr Narayans-wamy.
“Committee members were satisfied with WR’s efforts. We requested them to help us by requesting the railway board to sanction more funds,” said Shai-lendra Kumar, DRM, Mumbai.

Students exhibit talents at foundation event
Mumbai: Each One Teach One Charitable Foundation, which provides academic support to underprivileged children in urban and rural India, organised its 30th annual prize distribution function at Manik Sabhagriha, Bandra on Tuesday to reward the meritorious students of the organisation. The event saw skits, dances and a story of triumph over odds. It was also an opportunity for the students to present their acting and dance talents. The students portrayed a 30-year journey of the organisation. The event was designed and directed by Kruti Bhatt and Avishkar Amar and choreographed by Mitesh Shah, Sachin, Rohit, Vishal and Chetan. Jimmy Moses, a famous mimicry artist, also performed at the event.
