The full moon night of Holi

The entire creation is nothing but a manifestation of energy. Every object of creation, all lokas (dimensions of existence) and yugas (dimensions of time) exist in energy forms. Interestingly, life exists only on planet earth, and various dimensions, which exist as a part of the etheric world, can be experienced and accessed only from here.

Our culture talks about the existence of thousands of gods and goddesses, so if the supreme god is one and formless, one does tend to ask what these forms called gods actually are. All the objects in the universe — sun, moon, planets, stars — are divine energies going through a process of transformation. All these bodies may seem like objects to us, but they are doing their karmas. Though Param Brahma is the actual source of energy, every aspect of the physical creation is looked after by an energy specifically programmed to control it. This explains the existence of demigods or different forms of god.
The movements of the earth change the dimension of time. The earth lies tilted on its axis. When the axis tilts, yugas change and when it moves on the axis, the seasons change. Every movement from one dimension to the other brings about a change as every day comes with its unique energy patterns.
In the life of a spiritual aspirant, four nights are of great importance — Maha Shivratri, Holi, Guru Poornima and Diwali. Life, which we call a journey of the spirit, for a yogi requires him to continuously cleanse himself and cause an awakening of higher forces in the self. Certain days are chosen when the effect of practices like Sanatan Kriya and tantra sadhna can be manifold compared to an ordinary day. These days were chosen and marked with significance. For the grasp of the common man, the days were associated with stories. In the story of Holika, when Hiranyakashipu fails in all attempts to kill his son Prahlad, he decides to put him on Holika’s lap and set him on fire. Holika had been given the boon that she cannot be burnt by fire. But, as Prahlad had absolute faith in Lord Vishnu, he came out of the fire unscathed, while Holika was reduced to ashes. The story illustrates the victory of positive forces over negative. These stories have been handed down by superbeings of yore and the meanings of each are as deep as the secrets of creation, which are revealed to a practitioner when the stage comes.
For a spiritual aspirant this stage is the night of Sanatan Kriya and tantra sadhna. The Guru, who monitors his shishya at every step, assessing his ability, gives him a specific mantra and prescribes a kriya at the right muhurta (time) on this night. The amazing psychic experiences, which follow the practice, bring the results one may have to work even for a lifetime to achieve in just one night.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
