Pink, the colour of love
Every relationship is symbiotic as it is based on give and take. You are in it because you are getting something from the other person and vice-versa. No matter how close a person might be to you, the moment you stop giving or the moment this “give and take” comes to an end, the relationship ceases to exist.
The only relationship that is an exception to this rule is that of a mother and a child, that too from the mother’s side and not vice-versa. The mother holds unconditional love for her child and nurtures and raises him/her without expecting anything in return. Every religion gives utmost respect to the mother for she is the creator of creation. She is shakti and, therefore, it makes sense to have every day as the day of the mother — the epitome of unconditional love. If you look at the depiction of a mother in any culture or faith, she will be shown to hold the child against her chest, for that is the seat of unconditional love in a human being. The pranic layer of a human body comprises various energy centres called chakras, which cater to different needs of a being. The chakra associated with unconditional love — what a mother feels for a child — is the anahad, which is located at the centre of the chest cavity. The chakras in the body function like exhaust fans, pulling in fresh prana and expelling the waste prana. And the prana for unconditional love is obtained from the lightest shade of pink.
The colour pink is very rare in nature. You can find it in a few flowers and at the time of dawn and dusk for barely two minutes. It is the colour of pure love, which actually is letting go of the person you love and living for him/her. Normally love is confused with being possessive and enforcement of your will over your lover, which is actually lust and is guided by insecurities not love. The former is a shade of brown and the latter pink. The colour pink is channelised through the anahad chakra. If you take a look at the portraits of saints and gods, you will find that their hand is raised in blessing to the level of anahad chakra, indicating the channelisation of the pink light through the anahad.
In elementary stages of Sanatan Kriya, one is introduced to very minute quantities of light pink and that much pink is able to render magnanimous glow in a practitioner. To experience the power of motherly love, of colour pink, just sit with your eyes closed. Become aware of the anahad chakra, and from here direct the lightest shade of pink towards creation through your palms. It is said whatever you give comes back to you manifold. St Francis of Assisi said it is in giving that you receive, in loving that you are loved and in dying that you are born again. The Bhagvad Gita talks about the same thing. So practise this act of giving and receiving.
