Vizag Port steps up IP surveillance

Vizag Seaport on Wednesday tied up with with IP-based surveillance firm Axis Communications for stepping up its surveillance and training capabilities. IP-based surveillance uses centralised and high definition cameras for the purpose of surveillance, and has fool proof password systems with in built checks. Explaining the need for IP-based surveillance system, Vizag Sea Port MD, Mr Raga Kishore, with the implementation of International Ship and Port Security code, and Vizag Sea Port — a part of the Visakhapatnam port — falling under the Eastern Naval Command Base, it is imperative that the security is beefed.
