Indian Idol winner Abhijeet Sawant was beaten up by an irate crowd here after his friend and reality show participant Prajakta Shukre rammed her car into a scooter injuring two teenagers. Shukre, who was driving a Honda City, rammed the car into a scooter on Tuesday night at suburban Santacruz, seriously injuring the rider Tohil Khan (19) and his brother Taufiq Khan (14), they said.
According to the police, Shukre and a few of her friends, including Sawant, were racing when Shukre lost control of her vehicle and hit the scooter. “Locals who had witnessed the enti-re accident immediately ga-thered at the spot and ass-aulted Sawant who was trying to appease the crowd,” a police official said.
