Coloured dino feathers found trapped in amber

A small collection of amber-trapped feathers that may have belonged to dinosaurs or birds 80 million years ago have been found in a Canadian museum collection, said a study on Thursday. Ryan McKellar, a graduate student at Canada’s University of Alberta, pored over more than 4,000 specimens held at the university and at the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology.
Eventually he found 11 worthy samples of preserved feathers, described in the journal Science as “the richest amber feather find from the late Cretaceous period,” some 65 to 99 million years ago.
The samples McKellar uncovered, which range in colour from brown to black, were preserved in tree resin that became amber, pulled from Canada’s most famous amber deposit near Grassy Lake in southwestern Alberta.

Pitt says thoughts on Aniston misunderstood
A story posted on Parade magazine’s website on Thursday in which Brad Pitt talks about his life with ex-wife Jennifer Aniston put the actor in damage control mode, saying his words had been misinterpreted.
Pitt said in a profile by Parade magazine posted on the publication’s website that he is now a “satisfied man” in his relationship with Angelina Jolie. The Moneyball star compares his new life with Jolie, with whom he is raising 6 kids, favourably to the roughly five years he spent married to Aniston. “It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself,” Pitt told Parade. “I think that my marriage (to Aniston) had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t,” he added.
Those quotes were interpreted by many media outlets as meaning Pitt thought Aniston was uninteresting. But the actor sought to clarify in a statement issued later. — Reuters

There is also a photo of Kunis in a bathtub being leaked. It was noted, however, that all that is visible is her head. The hacker also claimed there are some text exchanges between the actress and the SexyBack singer, Timberlake. — PTI

Selena Gomez wants to work with DiCaprio
Former Disney star Selena Gomez would love to work with Leonardo DiCaprio but is not sure it will ever happen. The 19-year-old singer who is currently dating Baby hitmaker Justin Bieber, is keen to work with the Inception star but does not believe it is likely to happen any time soon, reported E!online.
“I don’t think Leonardo DiCaprio is calling me anytime soon. But I will be calling Leonardo myself and asking if he wants to work with me,” she said.
However, the Monte Carlo star said that some high profile celebrities, including Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman, would love to star in a film with her. — PTI

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
