Dum Maro Dum worries Goa police
It seems that the Goa police is worried that the upcoming Rohan Sippy film, Dum Maro Dum, which portrays Goa’s criminal underbelly, might be too close to the truth. The department recently wrote to the filmmakers to show them all promotional and publicity footages before releasing the film.
The state’s police department is already embroiled in several controversies from the murder of British teenager Scarlet Keeling in 2008 and the subsequent botching up of the investigations to the alleged nexus between the drug mafia and the police.
The department, thus, does not want any more bad publicity.
The Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu starrer apparently revolves around drug trafficking and sex rackets in Goa and according to sources, the cops want to ensure that they are not shown in a bad light in the movie, particularly as Abhishek Bachchan plays a policeman in the movie.
Even the tourism department is apprehensive that the state might be shown in a bad light.
