Glee premiere is postponed

The season five premiere of Glee has been postponed by one week due to the recent death of Cory Monteith. The musical comedy show was due to return on September 19 but after 31-year-old Monteith, who played Finn Hudson, was found dead in a hotel room following an overdose of heroin and alcohol, it has been pushed back until September 26.
“In light of the tragic passing of beloved Glee cast member Cory Monteith, the series’ executive producers, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company have jointly decided to delay the start of production of Glee until early August. Season five of Glee will now premiere on Thursday, September 26 on Fox. No further details are available at this time (sic),” Fox said.

Jacko mom cries in court, blasts critics
Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine broke down in tears on Friday recalling the day her son died, as she testified against tour promoters AEG Live whom she blames over his 2009 death. Taking the stand, she also lashed out at critics who described the star as a “freak” and said AEG Live should have done more to help the late singer, clearly ill in the weeks before he died. “When I lost Michael, I lost everything,” the 83-year-old said, repeatedly wiping away tears as she was questioned by her lawyer Brian Panish. “Michael and I were very close. Michael was the type of son every mother would want,” she added, describing him as “very shy.” Jackson accuses AEG Live of pushing her son too hard as he rehearsed in Los Angeles for a series of “This is It” comeback concerts in London and of negligently hiring doctor Conrad Murray to look after him.

Ed Sheeran donates trophies to friends
Singer Ed Sheeran has won so many awards that he hands them out as party gifts to friends. The Lego House singer has won many trophies — including two BRIT Awards, an Ivor Novello and two Q Awards. He says he has no more room for them at home, so leaves them stacked by his front door so friends can grab them as they leave, reported the Daily Star. “There are only so many you can put out on the wall without looking like a fool. So I prefer for my friends to celebrate my success as well and have it in their living room. All of my friends have them,” Sheeran said. Recently it was revealed that Sheeran and his friend Taylor Swift, 23, wrote their hit Everyt-hing Has Changed while hanging out on a trampoline. “Me and Ed Sheeran wrote Everything Has Changed sitting on a trampoline! We loved it so much that we ended up recording it as a duet,” Swift said. — PTI

HK opens exhibit to honour Bruce Lee
The late superstar Bruce Lee is best-known for the kung fu skills he displayed in his movies, but his daughter hopes that more people take the effort to understand his teachings and life philosophy.
Marking his death 40 years ago on July 20, the Hong Kong government has teamed up with the Bruce Lee Foundation to put together an exhibition to showcase the late star’s life, from his famous yellow tracksuit he wore in the movie Game of Death, to his writings and drawings. The exhibition that opened today, “Bruce Lee: Kung fu. Art. Life,” has more than 600 items on display, including photos, costumes, videos and even a 3.5-metre statue.
Lee, who was born in San Francisco but raised in Hong Kong, died at the height of his fame due to an allergic reaction to painkillers at the age of 32.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
