Intruder with a knife wakes up Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton awoke on Tuesday to find a knife-wielding intruder trying to break into her Los Angeles area home, later posting a photo on her Twitter page of the man being taken away in handcuffs.
“So scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes. Cops are here arresting him,” the 29-year-old hotel chain heiress tweeted.
The mystery man, who woke up Hilton by banging on the windows of her Sherman Oaks home, was arrested around 6.30 am, Los Angeles police department spokesman Richard French said. The would-be intruder, said to be in his 40s, was arrested before he was able to get into the house. His motive was unknown.
It has been an eventful few months for Hilton, who was briefly detained by the police in July on the French island of Corsica after being caught with less than a gram of cannabis in her handbag.
Hilton was also arrested during the World Cup in South Africa after a friend she was with took a joint to the Brazil-Netherlands quarter-final match in Port Elizabeth.
Already a darling of the tabloids, Hilton, the great-granddaughter of the Hilton hotel chain’s founder, shot to even greater fame in 2003 when her boyfriend leaked a video of their sexual escapades on the Internet.
