Ivory, nude and honey make splash on Day 4
The second last day of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week was closed by Payal Jain and Sanchita. “Black Ice” by Payal took the audience to the rugged jungles of Kilimanjaro. Her collection explored the savage beauty of the creatures, which inhabit this corner of the world. Lakshmi Rana opened the show in a black long bandhini, embroidered long coat and skinny satin pants. Bhawna Sharma followed her in a satin voluminous skirt teamed with a chiffon blouse. Zebra prints were seen on capes, leggings, tunics, dresses, kaftans and wrap skirts. Next in row were some bold and blingy outfits by Sanchita Ajjampur. In a dimensional play of cuts, layers, textural expressions and fluid visual patterns, the collection translated Japanese influences and Kabuki motifs into contemporary silhouettes.
Designer Rocky S. also showcased his bridal line. The colours were bright and lehengas ornate. Saris in chiffon, sheer and net with butis and interestingly cut cholis were eye-catching. Bipasha Basu and Madhavan closed Roc-ky’s show. The colours that made a splash on the ramp included ivory, nude, honey, brown, moss, green, mulberry, blue and purple.
