Kama Sutra translated into Russian language

Kama sutra, the world famous ancient Indian text on the art of sex, has been translated for the first time into Udmurt language spoken in Russia.
Translating the text was a challenging task for the writer, poet and playwright Pyotr Zakharov, who at times had to invent words to reflect the sensualities described in Kama Sutra as Udmurt language lacks sex-related vocabulary. “This would be the first publication of the Kama Sutra in Udmurt language as nobody had enough courage to translate it,” Larisa Orekhova, director of a publishing house was quoted as saying by Interfax news agency. The language is spoken by around five lakh people in the Russian Republic of Udmurtia with capital Izhevsk, known as the home of the AK-47 Kalashnikov assault rifles.
A mighty river Kama, flowing through the republic, might have prompted the Udmurts to translate Kama Sutra in their own language although it is freely available in the bookstores in Russian.
