Lindsay Lohan placed under house arrest

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has been ordered to serve her 120 days jail term from home and is fitted with an electronic ankle bracelet to keep a check on her.
The Mean Girls star was last month ordered to undertake three years probation, serve 120 days in jail and complete 480 hours of community service after taking a necklace from an upmarket boutique, breaching the terms of her 2007 probation. The 24-year-old, who turned up three weeks early to serve her jail term, has now been asked to serve her time under house arrest because of overcrowding at the facility, authorities said.
“She is now confined to the interior premises of her home at all times,” Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said. The home detention service aims to reduce the prison population by allowing non-violent offenders to serve out their sentences in home confinement.
Lohan, who pleaded no contest to stealing the $2,500 necklace had until June 17 to report to the prison but she wanted to do it sooner rather than later so she can begin shooting her new movie, Gotti: Three Generations.

Sheen to sell Beverly Hills house
London: Actor Charlie Sheen is selling his Beverly Hills mansion Sober Valley Lodge for $7.2 million. Sheen has put the luxurious five-bedroom home, spread across 7,924 sq. ft., on the market where it is described as an “entertainer’s dream”, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
“This custom-built Mediterranean in Mulholland Estates is an entertainer’s dream with spacious public rooms, most of which open to a beautifully landscaped yard featuring an outdoor kitchen with dining area, pool and spa,” reads the listing.
The property also consists of seven bathrooms, a private screening room and top of the line appliances and finishes. The 45-year-old, who recently purchased another home with six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, had been living with porn star Bree Olson and part-time model Natalie Kenly. —IANS

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
