Made Royal Navy ‘head’

Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, turned 90 on Friday and was made the titular head of the Royal Navy by his wife.

Prince Philip, the longest-serving consort in British history, is not having any celebrations to mark the day and will attend a private thanksgiving service at Windsor on Sunday. The queen, then Princess Elizabeth, and the Duke of Edinburgh were married in November 1947.
