Minogue’s Merc fetches £14,950

A black Mercedes-Benz given to singer Kylie Minogue by her sister Dannii went under the hammer for £14,950 here and the siblings have decided to donate the proceeds to charity.
The SLK230 convertible, bought by Dannii and subsequently passed onto her sister, was sold by Bonhams as part of the auction house’s annual Goodwood Festival of Speed sale on Friday. The auction house did not disclose the identity of the buyer. The car, which had a pre-sale estimate of £8,000-£12,000, covered just 19,000 miles.
“The Mercedes-Benz had all the right ingredients — good colour, low mileage and a fantastic provenance,” James Knight, head of Bonhams motoring department, said.
Kylie, recently declared by researchers to be ‘the most powerful celebrity in Britain’.
