Norwood gets tattoo of Ganesh
Brandy Norwood, one of the best-selling female artistes in American music history, reportedly got a new tattoo of Lord Ganesh and is proud of it. Reports suggest that California tattoo artist Peter Koskela inked Lord Ganesh on Image Award winner Norwood’s left wrist.
According to her tweets, Norwood knew that it was the image of Ganesh, the “Remover of all obstacles” but mistook him for an “Egyptian God”. On being pointed out by her Twitter followers, she quickly corrected her error and wrote: “Ganesh is actually a Hindu deity, not Egyptian :) the tattoo is gorgeous!” Welcoming Norwood’s interest in Lord Ganesh, Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement on Wednesday, urged her to go beyond the fashion statement and explore the rich philosophical thought which Hinduism offered. —ANI

Queen’s rare photos to go on display
London: Previously unseen childhood portraits of the British monarch and Princess Margaret from the late Queen Elizabeth I’s private collection are to go on display for the first time at an exhibition in the UK.
The photographs include some of the most informal studio portraits ever taken of the princesses with their parents, which will be am-ong more than 100 prints on display dating from 1926 to 1956, the Daily Telegraph reported. One of the earliest photographs is of the three-year-old Princess Elizabeth cuddling her father, the then Duke of York, in 1929.
Three years later, the future Queen posed with her younger sister shortly before Princess Margaret’s second birthday, and in 1940 the princesses, aged 14 and nine, were pictured with their mother. —PTI
