Parents furious over Britney, Rihanna kiss
Angry activists at a parents group have criticised Britney Spears and Rihanna for their sleazy on-stage performance at the recent Billboard Music Awards.
Spears, 29, who teamed up to duet on Rihanna’s S&M track at the Vegas ceremony, was shown pole-dancing onstage in matching leather bodices with their hands clamped with handcuffs. The duo also performed an onstage kiss.
The risque performance was broadcast on a channel at primetime, infuriating officials at the Parents Television Council (Ptc), who has termed it as a “profanity-laced sex show”, reported Femalefirst.
“The song title alone reeks of the adult entertainment industry and Tuesday’s performance wasn’t far from it. What happened in Vegas should have stayed in Vegas, as the saying goes. It certainly has no place at 8pm on the publicly-owned broadcast airwaves. I cannot imagine what would possibly lead the ABC television network to air a profanity-laced, S&M sex show on primetime broadcast television,” read a statement from PTC president Tim Winter.
“The overtly sexualised performance by Rihanna and Britney Spears was no accident or mishap, but a deliberate effort to target teens with images and lyrics that glamorise whips, chains and other sexual fetishes,” it added.

Planet of Apes star arrested
Thomas Watkins
Los Angeles
Planet of the Apes actress and former model Estella Warren was arrested after a late-night crash that led to her allegedly assaulting a police officer then trying to flee from custody, officials said on Tuesday.
Warren was driving down Harper Avenue near West Hollywood when she crashed into three parked cars, Los Angeles police Officer Sarah Faden said.
Someone heard the noise of the crashes and came to see what was going on. That person called the police then pursued Warren when it was clear she wasn’t going to stop and leave her information, Faden said.
The person then forced Warren to stop, though it was unclear how. The police arrived and arrested Warren on suspicion of driving under the influence, but she assaulted one of the officers, Faden said. —AP
