Salman meets childhood pals after 35 years
IT WAS just a replay of Bollywood movie Billu, when actor Salman Khan reunited with his two schoolmates here on Tuesday after a gap of 35 years.
Khan, who was an official invitee to a function organised the Chhattisgarh government to celebrate the completion of a decade of formation of the state, looked for his schoolmates — Sumit Bachawat, a Charted Accountant and local inspector-general of police (IGP) Mukesh Gupta, as soon as he landed at the Mana Airport on Tuesday evening.
“I am extremely thankful to the organisers for inviting me to this function,” the actor told his fans and admirers.
When contacted, Salman’s childhood friend Bachawat said that he shared the hostel room with the star at Scindia School in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, in 1977-79. Salman was junior to him by two years.
“I used to tell my wife and children about my association with Salman. But they never believed me. My daughter used to tease me by saying that why I never introduced her to Salman if both of us were school friends,” Bachawat told this newspaper.
When Bachawat came to know that Salman was coming here on Tuesday, he wanted to meet him, but did not know how, because of tight security arrangements made for the actor.
