Seventh Sikh film fest to be held in New York
The Sikh Film and Art Foundation has announced its seventh annual film festival in New York City on October 22.
The two-day event will showcase exemplary masterpieces in film making, art and direction.
The festival promises to offer a range of 12 films dealing with heartrending Sikh stories across the globe, from both established and emerging filmmakers.
The premiere will be held at Asia Society and Museum in New York, bringing the immigrant experience of the Sikhs to the forefront with a diverse mix of short films.
The festival also aims at creating a forum to network with dignitaries, ambassadors, celebrities and corporate leaders. The exclusive films that will be unveiled at this event were selected to elevate experience of Sikhism; to teach and to inspire. It will conclude with the foundation’s annual heritage gala and awards distribution ceremony for winning films.

Naomi: I’m no role model
London: Supermodel Na-omi Cambell says she doesn’t want to be regarded as a role model as she has made “many mistakes” in her life.
She has been involved in a string of scandals, including claims of assault. “I make many mistakes. I’m not a perfect human being. I have to learn from my mistakes. And a lot of the ones I’ve made have been public,” contactmusic.com qu-oted her as saying. “So, I always get nervous when people speak about something that sounds like a role model, because I don’t know if I’ve been a great role model myself. I don’t think I have in certain as-pects of my life.” —IANS
