Sheen hospitalised after ‘wild’ party
Troubled US actor Charlie Sheen was rushed to hospital on Thursday with severe abdominal pains, his spokesman said after a reported “wild” party at his home outside Los Angeles.
The TMZ celebrity website said the 45-year-old actor — nickname “Good Time Charlie” — had suffered a hiatal hernia and quoted neighbours saying they heard loud partying, which had gone on for 36 hours, until early in the morning. “He was having severe abdominal pains and went to the hospital,” his spokesman said, after TMZ reported that he was stretchered into an ambulance at 7:00 am and taken to the Cedars-Sinai hospital.
Asked about the hernia report, spokesman Stan Rosenfield added: “He has had a history of having this type of hernia, and the person who made the 911 call said he had severe stomach pains and said it was from a hernia condition.”
TMZ, which earlier said the star was in “serious” condition, said a 911 call was made at 6:35 am, and that two young women were seen leaving at the same time while Sheen was taken out with a towel partially covering his face.
It later said Sheen was in the emergency room, sleeping, but quoted a hospital source as saying: “It’s serious.”
His actor father Martin Sheen and mother Janet Templeton were at the hospital, TMZ said.
