Singer Mehdi Hassan laid to rest in Karachi

The ghazal king was buried at Shah Mohammad Shah graveyard in north Karachi. The legendary ghazal singer passed away on Wednesday after protracted illness at the age of 85. Mehdi Hassan was born in Luna village in Rajasthan in 1927.
His father Ustad Azeem Khan and uncle Ustad Ismail Khan were renowned classical musicians. He acquired early training from them. After he migrated to Pakistan, he tried his hand at a few professions but once he started getting acknowledgement as a singer, he decided to adopt it as a career.
