Tolstoy’s War and Peace to be adapted for TV
Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace is being remade for TV 40 years after the BBC’s last adaptation of the epic love story.
Regarded as one of the most important works of world literature, the new six-part series will be written by Pride and Prejudice screenwriter Andrew Davies, reported BBC online. “Not just a great novel, it’s a wonderful read and it’ll make a wonderful serial,” said Davies.
First published in 1869, War and Peace is considered one of Tolstoy’s finest literary works, along with Anna Karenina. Award-winning screenwriter Davies, whose other TV adaptations include Sense and Sensibility, called it a “thrilling, funny and heartbreaking story of love, war and family life”.

New scorpion species FOUND in U.S. desert
Washington: A new species of scorpion has been discovered in the Santa Catalina Mountains in the US.
Another scorpion of the same group also inhabits this mountain range in southern Arizona, making this the first documented case of two vorhiesi group species distributed on the same mountain.
Rob Bryson Jr discovered the new species — Vaejovis brysoni —while looking for a completely different animal.
He sent specimens to researchers, who determined that they were indeed a new scorpion species.
For over 50 years only four species of mountain scorpions were known from the state of Arizona. That number has more than doubled over the past six years, with a total of 10 species now known, all belonging to the same group.
