Tom Cruise thanks his Indian fans

Hollywood actor Tom Cruise, who has expressed a desire to visit India, has taken to Internet to thank his Indian fans for their love and kindness.
The Mission Impossible star recently turned 48 and birthday wishes poured in from all quarters, especially from Indian fans, through Facebook and Twitter.
He posted on his Twitter page, “A huge THANK YOU to the wonderful people of India for their birthday wishes and kindness... I’ll see you at the movies on Friday,” referring to his upcoming film Knight and Day. The film, slated for release in India July 9, is an action comedy with Cameron Diaz and Cruise in the lead.

Aussie band fined over ‘copied riff’
Sydney: A judge ordered Australian band Men at Work on Tuesday to hand over a portion of the royalties from their 1980s hit Down Under, after previously ruling its distinctive flute riff was copied from a children’s campfire song.
But the penalty — 5 per cent of the song’s royalties — was far less than the 60 per cent sought by publishing company Larrikin Music, which holds the copyright for the song Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree.
Kookaburra was written more than 70 years ago by Australian teacher Marion Sinclair, and the song about the native Australian bird has been a favourite around campfires. —AP
