‘Wanted to visit India all my life’

“I wanted to come to India my whole life, so I am very excited,” said Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise as he made a brief visit to Taj Mahal in Agra on Saturday.
The 49-year-old superstar is on a two-day promotional visit in the country for his

upcoming film Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Cruise was accompanied by Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, his co-star in the movie.
Dressed in a sky blue shirt and green trousers the actor exchanged pleasantries with the visitors present at the monument.
He took pictures of the Taj Mahal and went inside the Conotaph Chamber to see the graves of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. Cruise went around the monument with heavy security following him during his 25 minute visit.
The actor landed in Delhi early in the morning and headed straight to Agra to visit the historical monument. His next stop is Mumbai where he will attend a fan screening of the action-thriller, two-weeks ahead of its release in India.
“The screening will be held tomorrow afternoon at a theatre in suburban Wadala. There will be red carpet event where lot of Bollywood celebrities are expected,” sources said.
MI:4 marks the return of Cruise as secret agent Ethan Hunt. Kapoor plays an Indian business tycoon Brij Nath in the film. The film releases in India on December 16 in 2-D and Imax-3D. Cruise is later scheduled to fly to Dubai for the world premier of his film at the 8th Dubai International Film Festival on December 7.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
