Zsa Zsa to have hip replacement surgery
A publicist says Zsa Zsa Gabor is having surgery on Monday morning to replace the hip she broke over the weekend when she fell out of bed in her Bel Air home.
Publicist John Blanchette said the 93-year-old actress will undergo the procedure at Ronald Reagan UCLA medical centre. Blanchette says Gabor was watching television in her Bel Air home on Saturday night when she reached to answer the phone and tumbled to the floor.
“She was watching her favourite show, Jeopardy, when the phone rang,” he said. “She reached over to pick it up and fell.” He said several bones were broken, but said he didn’t know any other details of her injuries. Her husband called an ambulance, and Gabor was taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Centre.
She was taken to the hospital, where she spent Sunday with husband Prince Frederic von Anhalt and family members.
