Bigwigs of Filmnagar pull strings to get babu shifted
A senior lady officer probing the irregularities in the controversial Filmnagar Co-operative Society has been shunted out, within five months of taking charge.
N. Kiranmayee, who submitted a second report on grave irregularities to the government a few days back, has been “promoted” as general manager and repatriated to AP State Cooperative Marketing Federation Limited (Markfed) allegedly due to pressure from bigwigs from the film industry.
Ms Kiranmayee was appointed person-in-charge of the Filmnagar Cooperative Society in May, apart from being the Hyderabad Urban district cooperative officer, after the society body was scrapped by the government. She was entrusted with overseeing its affairs.
“There has been pressure from film personalities to transfer her in view of her having raised questions on various irregularities in the allotment of plots, flats, leasing of shops, allotment of land to film club among and others,” a source in the department said.
Ms Kiranmayee gave a highly damning report on the irregularities in Filmn-agar Cooperative Society, but the government failed to act on it in view of the bigwigs involved in the matter.
Sources said some film bigwigs recently met cooperation minister Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy and department commissioner Sri Naresh to transfer her.
The senior official also found grave irregularities in TNGOs housing society creating ripples among government employees.
When contacted, Ms Kira-nmayee said, “I am back in Markfed on promotion.”
