1,250 more check into Games Village
New Delhi: A huge contingent of around 1,250 athletes and officials checked into the Commonwealth Games Village on Thursday, taking the total number of its residents to well over 5,500.
The latest arrivals included 124 from England inclusive of participants in swimming and other disciplines.
The Papua New Guinea was the second largest delegation with 119 athletes, followed by New Zealand with 94.
Among the other large teams were Australia (87), Canada (79), Mauritius (75), Bangladesh (59), Wales (42) and Malaysia (39).
The sprawling Village will be home to some 7,000 athletes and officials taking part in the Commonwealth Games starting here on Sunday. The events ends on October 14.
