61st Cavalry have it easy
61st Cavalry chalked up a one-sided win on the second day of the BLK Baroda Cup (10-goal) polo tournament at the Army Equestrian Centre in Delhi Cantt on Thursday, beating Navy by 12-6½.
The Cavalrymen scored through Ravi Rathore (6 goals), Vishal Chauhan (4) and Sameer Chaudhary and Pushpender Singh (one each).
For the losing side, goals came from Angad Kalaan (4) and Akhil Sirohi, the team handed a a half-goal on handicap.
On the opening day of the tournament on Monday, Sahara Warriors routed Navy 9 goals to 3½ and IPG Young India shaded Jindal Steel and Power 8 goals to 5½.
For the Sahara Warriors, Samir Suhag and Max Charlton scored four times each with Adhiraj Sing rounding off their tally, while Navy’s two field goals came from Akhil Sirohi alongside 1½ goals on handicap
IPG Young India were led by Abhimanyu Pathak’s four goals, two coming from Bhawani Kalvi, and a strike apiece from Himat Singh Bedla and Tarun Bilwal. For Jindal Steel & Power, Simran Shergill scored all five goals after they started with a ½ goal advantage
On Saturday, Cavalry play Sahara Warriors at 1 pm and Jindal Steel & Power meet IPG Young India at 3 pm.
