Air warriors conquer Ladakh peaks
A team of Indian Air Force mountaineering expedition team have accomplished the feat of climbing three unconquered mountain peaks in the Ladakh region. The 18-member team was flagged in by Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal N.A.K. Browne, in the capital on Saturday.
The expedition was cleared to climb by the Indian Mountaineering Federation and was led by Wing Commander Namit Rawat. This is the first ever expedition of its kind where a team climbed three peaks successfully at altitudes of 20,112, 21,200 and 21,010 feet. The team consisted of 11 first-time climbers and a civilian from the Air Force.
