Amateurs prepare for qualifiers
The Indian qualifying tournament for the Duke of Edinburgh Cup, an international amateur golf event known for its youth charities, will be staged at the Unitech Golf & Country Club, Noida, this weekend.
Around 100 amateur golfers will participate in the India qualifier over two days (August 17 and 18) . The tournament will be played in individual Stableford format.
The qualifiers of the event, presented by Oris and Unitech in India, are held in more than 10 countries across the world, the winners of which will be invited to take part in the world finals of the Duke of Edinburgh Cup at Windsor Castle, London.
One winner from each day of the qualifiers will be invited for the world finals, scheduled for September 15 and 19. The 36-hole world finals will take place over two days on two prestigious golf courses. There is also a match with the members at the Royal Household Golf Club, which is the British royal family’s private golf course at Windsor Castle.
