Anthony’s, Army School hoopsters bag honours

Jan. 10: St Anthony’s School lifted the girls trophy in the basketball event of the DC Inter-Schools Sports Meet held at Indus World School on Monday.
St Anthony’s downed St Pious High School 30-21 in the final clash.
Anthony’s hit the right note with a display of fine skills. Capitalising on the lead, Manisha Goud and Mounika continued their good show till the end. While Manisha chipped in 12 points, Mounika contributed 11.
St Pious struggled but to no avail. Despite handy contributions from Rumana (8) and Manisha (8), St Pious girls were unable to convert shots which led to their defeat.
Meanwhile, Army School clinched the boys title ousting Swami Narayan Gurukul School 57-27.
In a lop-sided match, Army School’s Pruthvi and Varun Singh went on a scoring spree with 19 and 18 points respectively. Hari chipped in with 15 points for the winners.
Aditya Raj and Shashank scored eight points each for Gurukul.

Results:
* Boys: Army School (Pruthvi 19, Varun Singh 18, Hari 15) bt Swami Narayan Gurukul (Aditya Raj 8, Shashank 8) 57-27.
* Girls: St Anthony’s (Manish Gandhi 12, Mounika Goud 11) bt St Pious (Rumana 8, Manisha 8) 30-21.
