Apex Court grants relief to Milkha Singh; sets aside notification issued by Chandigarh administration
Ace Indian sprinter, Milkha Singh, who was often called "The flying Sikh" for his amazing prowess was granted relief by the apex court which decided to set aside the notifiction issued by the Chandigarh adminstration that had threatened to take his land away from him.
Milkha, who owned a four-acre plot in Chandigarh, had been issued a notification and his land had been snatched from him. The Supreme Court ruling comes as a huge relief for one of India's greatest athletes.
Meanwhile, Milkha, talking about the talent pool for athletics in the country, opined that sport bodies should look into rural talent.
