Britain chef Heston Blumenthal set to carry Olympic torch
Celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal has been chosen as one of the torchbearers for the London 2012 Olympics.
Blumenthal, 45, will be among 8,000 normal folk and celebrities carrying the flame across Britain.
He will run his leg of the relay in Slough, Berkshire - close to his Fat Duck restaurant in the village of Bray.
Blumenthal, famous for his snail porridge, spoke about his excitement on being one of the torchbearers.
“It’s such a massive honour,” the Sun quoted him as saying.
“When the letter came through telling me, I just sat there staring at it.
“It’s amazing to think I’m going to be part of history,” he added.
