Delhi to host Sheru Classic C’ship

After a successful event in Mumbai last year, the Sheru Classic Professional bodybuilding championship — Asia’s first IFBB professional league event — is back with its second edition.

The 2012 championships, offering a cash prize worth $210,000, will be held in the capital from October 6.
Participants will compete in four main categories — men’s professional bodybuilding, women’s professional figure, men’s professional 212 and women’s professional bikini.
Sheru Classic is a brainchild of India’s second professional bodybuilder Sheru Aangrish.
“My aim is to create awareness about professional bodybuilding in India so that it gets recognised as a major competitive sport.” Aangrish said.
Sheru Classic Delhi 2012 will also witness a powerlifting competition, organised in association with the Indian Powerlifting Federation.
The powerlifting competition will see men and women champions from 33 states across the country competing in four categories — lightweight men, lightweight women, Open men and Open women.
