Dempo look to extend unbeaten home run
Dempo would look to make amends of their lacklustre show in their previous outing and maintain their unbeaten home run when they take on Mohun Bagan in an eighth-round match of the I-League here tomorrow.
Dempo were stretched by bottom place Air India in their last outing which they won by a solitary goal as their attack lacked the creativity in the absence of Climax Lawrence, who is serving a two-match ban on disciplinary reasons.
Their forwards failed to provide the cutting edge in the absence of Koko Sakibo until Joaquim Abranches scored a late goal to give them full points against Air India and keep themselves close to league leaders East Bengal with 16 points from seven matches.
Climax Lawrence's absence will be felt in the midfield but with Rohan Rickett to start in the starting line-up, the team attack will revolve around him.
Karim Bencherifa, who took over as Mohun Bagan coach against Mumbai FC, will be in his first match on Goan soil after shifting guard from Salgaocar and will be hoping to turn things round and collect full points against Dempo tomorrow.
Bagan struggled against Mumbai FC and were lucky to get away with a point. They are placed fifth with 11 points from seven matches.
Both teams are in good form and the spectators can expect an absorbing contest with Dempo looking to collect full points and extend their fine home run.
