Medal-winning wrestlers Sushil Kumar and and Yogeshwar Dutt were accorded a hero’s welcome on their return from London where they won a silver and bronze medal respectively at the Olympic Games.

Sushil won silver in the 66 kg freestyle category and Yogeshwar clinched bronze in the 60 kg category on the final two days of the Games.
With this medal, Sushil etched his name in the history books by becoming the only Indian to win medals in back-to- back Olympic in individual sports.
Hordes of fans including family members gathered at Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport here to receive the duo. Members of the Sports Authority of India were also there to receive the star wrestlers.
The fans danced to beating drums and carried garlands, bouquets and sweets to welcome the duo even as it was became increasingly difficult for the police to control them.
At the first sight of the wrestlers coming out of the airport, fans broke barriers to reach out to their heroes, picking Sushil and Yogeshwar on their shoulders.
The wrestlers waved to the crowd in acknowledgment of the welcome generally associated with cricket stars in the country.
Yogeshwar, who left for home in his car, said he was overwhelmed by the reception. Sushil, on the other hand, was taken home on the outskirts of Delhi in a truck with an open top.
The union government will felicitate for all the six medal winners and other members of the contingent at the National Stadium on Thursday, a SAI officials said.
