Haryana CM felicitates mountaineers
Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday felicitated the All India Sainik School’s mountaineering expedition team on scaling a 6,095-metre virgin peak in the Rushpu Valley of the Leh region in Jammu and Kashmir.
The team of 35 members from 15 Sainik Schools in the country, led by two instructors from Sainik School, Kunjpura, Karnal, scaled the peak on June 28. This is the youngest ever mountaineering team to have accomplished this feat.
“This certainly requires a lot of hard work, mental and physical stamina and relentless passion to achieve such a feat. Being an aluminus of the Sainik School, Kunjpura, I am particularly proud on this achievement,” Hooda said.
“I am sure these young boys will keep the spirit of adventure high in their hearts and will bring more laurels in future. They will prove to be role models, not only for their juniors, but also for others,” he added.
