India seal semis berth

India qualified for the semifinals of the 7th Asian Youth Netball Championships despite suffering a 41-67 drubbing at the hands of Malaysia here on Wednesday.

rosper thereafter taking the next three quarters 16-7, 21-12, 18-9 here. India won only two out of the five matches played in the first round. They defeated Hong Kong (61-40) and Thailand (57-44) to assure themselves of a berth in the semis alongside Malaysia, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
In other matches, Sri Lanka thrashed Hong Kong 60-33 (15-5, 14-9, 14-8, 17-11), while Singapore beat Thailand 60-49 (17-12, 9-12, 21-12, 13-13).
