J&K to host 1st nat’l mountain running c’ship

Jammu and Kashmir will host the country’s maiden national mountain running championship on April 7.
“The Indian Mountain Running Association will organise the 1st national mountain running championship this year.
“Athletes from different parts of the country are expected to take part in the championship,” the association said on Sunday.

The championship, the first of its kind to be held in the country, will be conducted at three venues which include the hilly areas of Dara Harwan, hills of Fakeer Gujri and Shankar Acharya.
The Jammu and Kashmir mountain running association had organised a state-level tournament in December last year despite sub-zero temperatures, where top athletes of the valley had participated.
