The championship is held under the aegis of Gagan Narang Sports Promotion Foundation.
Meanwhile, Olympic silver medallist Vijay Kumar said at the event it was important for sportspersons to give back to the sport and nurture future champions.
The shooter from Barsar (HP) said, “This (Gun for Glory Shooting Academy) is a good thing. The sport gives you so much and you need to return by doing something for the sport. There are so many players who take up coaching, running institutes and training upcoming athletes at the grass root. Whatever an athlete takes from the sport he should be ready to distribute it to the public.”
