Lok Sabha congratulates Saina Nehwal

New Delhi, July 27: The Lok Sabha today congratulated badminton champion Saina Nehwal for winning three Super Series badminton tournaments.

Amid thumping of desks, Speaker Meira Kumar said these victories have catapulted Nehwal to Number 2 position in the world ranking which is a "unique achievement" in the history of Indian badminton.

"These achievements are a matter of national pride and source of inspiration for budding sportspersons of our country," she said.

The Speaker also conveyed the best wishes of the House to Nehwal for her future endeavours.
