London 2012 opening ceremony inspired by Frankenstein, says Danny Boyle
Danny Boyle has revealed that he used the story of Frankenstein as his inspiration for the Olympics celebrations.
The Oscar-winning Brit, who directed a stage version of the monster tale last year, is in charge of the London 2012 opening ceremony.
“There is quite a lot of Frankenstein in the show,” the Sun quoted him as telling Vogue.
“I mean, we don’t reanimate dead creatures, but we did use Frankenstein as a dry run for a lot of ideas for this.
“It’s a challenge, of course, because it can easily be just a cold spectacle. Stirring emotion is hard in a stadium,” he added.
