Macchupicchu wins main event in Pune

Pesi Shroff-trained Macchupicchu was ably ridden by Bhosle Prakash to claim the Indian St Leger, the highlight of the races held here on Sunday, in a sensational finish, staving of the strong challenge of the joint-favourite Ocean And Beyond.
The winner surpassed Capricorn’s course record of 2-58.7 set in 1987 when he ticked 2-57.3 for the 2,800 metres trip.
