No stopping superb Vishnu

Vishnu Prasad of Meco Racing continued his excellent form as he won four consecutive races to clinch the Round Two of the Senior Max category at the JK Tyre-FMSCI Rotax Max National Karting Championship at the JK Tyre-MMS Kartainment Track in Hyderabad on Sunday.

After winning Heat 1, Heat 2 and pre-final, Vishnu, who started on the pole position, refused to let of his grip as he cruised to an easy victory in the 25-lap race at the 840-metre track. Meanwhile, Mohite Racing’s Chittesh Mondody faced a setback to his campaign after being forced out the final due to a breakdown.
“It was the best weekend for me. The track is very fast but I just maintained my driving line. I’m in a good rhythm now. I only need to maintain the same for the next rounds,” Vishnu said after the race.
In the Junior Max category, Krishnaraj Mahadik of Mohite clinched the top honours while Pradyumn V. Danigund won the Micro Max event.
In the Junior Max, Mahaveer of Meco Racing, who started at the pole position finished second, but was later awarded a seven-place penalty or cutting-through the track. As a result, Tejas Ram of Meco Racing emerged the runner-up.
Defending champions Pradyumn led the pack through-out the 15-lap race, giving no chance for the rivals. Sahishnu Bagamane of Meco Racing, who started at third position, overtook Yash Aradhya early on and looked set to finish second until he crashed into a marker. He, however, recovered well to finish just behind the runner-up Yash Aradhya.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
