Pious, Anthony’s girls to lock horns in final

Jan. 9: Army School and Gurukul SSC made it to the final of the boys basketball event during the third edition of the DC Inter-Schools Sports Meet being held at Indus World School on Sunday.

In the girls category, St Anthony’s will face St Pious High School for the title.

It was the combined efforts of Prithvi, Shaurya and Varun Chauhan, who scored 10 points which led Army School to a thrilling 33-22 win over MGM School in boys semifinal.

In the other semifinal, Gurukul SSC were just too good for Johnson Grammar School who were trounced 45-25. Despite Manish’s 12 points and Preetesh’s 10 for Johnson Grammar, it was Uday’s (16) efforts for Gurukul which bore fruit.

St Pious girls scripted a convincing 30-13 win over Future Kids riding on Rumana Khatoon’s and Manisha’s performance.

While Rumana contributed 12 points, Manisha chipped in with 10. Sreeya (7) and Megna (5) scored for the losing side. In the other semifinal match, St Anthony’s prevailed over St Joseph’s, King Koti, 27-12.
