Ronjan Sodhi gets Khel Ratna, Virat Kohli and P V Sindhu gets Arjuna Award
New Delhi: Ace shooter Ronjan Sodhi is set to get the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, India's highest sporting honour, while the selection committe has recommeneded the names of 14 sportspersons, including cricketer Virat Kohli and shuttler PV Sindhu for Arjuna Award this year.
Sodhi has been India's top shooter in his category for years. He had won two silver medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and a gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games. He also defended his World Cup title in 2011 and is currently ranked No. 1 in world rankings.
Kohli has been consistent with the bat for India. He recently captained India to a 5-0 One-day international series victory in Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, P V Sindhu created history after becoming the first women from India to qualify into the semi-finals of the World Badminton Championships and became only the second Indian after Prakash Padukone to have won a medal in the prestigious tournamnet.
