Sahara Warriors stunned Jindal Steel & Power in the league stage of the Garcha Northern India Championship Open polo tournament and with the win, set up Sunday final meeting with Elevation, who got the better of 61st Cavalry at the Jaipur grounds on Friday.

The first match of the day — the fifth of the tournament — was dominated by Sahara’s Samir Suhag, who scored nine of his team’s goals, as they shaded the fancied Jindal side 10 goals to seven.
Suhag struck one in the first chukker, thrice in the second , once again each in the third, fourth and sixth and twice in the fifth. Gerardo Mazzini chipped in with one in the sixth chukker. For Jindal Steel & Power, Max Charlton scored five and Augastine G. Grossi and Simran Shergill once each.
In the second match, Elevation got the better of 61st Cavalry by eight goals to five, their scorers being Ignacio Toccalino (6), Hisan Hyder (1) and Dhruvpal Godara (1), while for the Cavalrymen, goals came from Navjit Singh Sandhu (1), Ravi Rathore (3) and Vishal Chauhan (1). The final will be played at the Jaipur grounds from 2.30 pm.
